A new introduction that we imported from the EU in 2007. Native to Zhejiang, Anji and Chiwukan Ling mountain range. Culms have reddish and purple stripes in the lower nodes. Apparently these characteristics develop after the culms age and the grove begins to attain a larger size. Although our plants are currently small some of the stripes of various widths are beginning to reveal themselves. Very rare in the US. |
