Semiarundinaria
This genus is made up of medium size running bamboos with nearly cylindrical culms. This is the most common medium sized temperate bamboo behind Phyllostachys. The leaves on this genus are generally broader and deeper green. They are considered to be a cross between Phyllostachys and Pleioblastus. Most can be grown as hedges or windbreaks.
