One of the few large-leaved temperate bamboos that thrive in heat and strong sunlight and is also tall. A nice landscape plant, but it has aggressive rhizomes that run long and deep. Good for erosion control or as a container plant. The culms age to a yellow green with the Sasa like leaves clustered at the ends of each branches.
