Semiarundinaria yamadorii 'Briscombe'

It is thought that S. yamadorii is a synonym for S. yashadake, however this variant has dark green striping on a lighter grean background on the leaves. The type plant is from Japan, this variant is a mutation found in an Oxford England garden belonging to John Vlitos by David Crompton. David named it after the garden where it was discovered.

He states in his book 'Ornamental Bamboos' that it must be planted in full sun in order to acquire the variegated leaves and its only present on young leaves. It is an interesting bamboo.
