Price: $14.99

This is the most commonly cultivated bamboo in the US. A fine plant with thick culm walls that have compressed and distorted nodes on the lower nodes on some culms, which forms nice handles for fishing poles or walking sticks. Most culms will have a swelling below the nodes that are unique to P. aurea. The culms are green turning yellow in strong light. These plants are very aggressive in warm southern moist climates, but act as a clumper in cooler climates.

P. aurea is drought tolerant and has a stiff upright growth habit that is conical in shape.
