A variegated form of Pl. distichus. It has bright white variegated leaves in the spring. Not the same as Pl. akebono although very similar. Syn. Pl. pygmaeus 'Distichus - Akebono'. Pl. akebono grows very slowly in our hot climate, whereas this form is a much more heat tolerant bamboo. |
